PIPSQUEAK PADDOCKS

On New Year's Day, a herd of seven Minis arrived here at Pipsqueak Paddocks Miniature Horse Haven Society.
We soon confirmed that three were in foal.
Rainbow Dash is due anytime now.  No known due-date, but the vet guessed January, so it can't be long now!
Twilight Sparkle is due around April/May at the soonest.
Applejack is due in May/June at the soonest.

Mare Stare (www.MareStare.com) has graciously donated live streaming of our foaling stall so that we can keep an eye on Dash at night.

A huge thank you to TNT HAY SALES for donating the bedding for the foaling stall!

Now remember, she does lie down sternally AND flat out periodically throughout the night.  Get to know her habits and be sure she's doing more than sleeping before you call.  I don't want anyone to be afraid to call us, but if you've just tuned in and you see her laying flat out - it doesn't necessarily mean she's in labour.  LOL

There is no need to get excited until you see signs that look like she is colicking.
She will likely sweat (might not be visible on the camera though), pace, look at her belly, & lie down/stand up several times. This is the natural re-positioning of the foal in preparation for birthing.

You can watch many other mares in foal at www.MareStare.com and connect with nice folks in their chat room too.
