Mercury was pretty sad looking when he came to us. He was purchased as part of a package deal, but was not the part that the people wanted. So, they tossed him in the auction.
Mercury had extreme rain-rot. Both of his eyes were infected and he was underweight.
He was curious and wanted to interact...
... but he had been abused and was very scared of humans.
Mercury had to rest up for a couple of months before we could have him gelded.
He ended up with a "schnauzer-cut" so that we could treat all of the infection over his back and sides. He wore a blanket on the cold days and nights.
He was always fairly peppy, but his personality really started to shine through once he started to feel better.
He was with us for nearly six months and was our "go-to" guy for socializing other Minis.
He got along with everyone, big or small!
Mercury was finally fit and healthy after half a year of good care.
One day, a gal came to see the Minis. She was thinking about getting a companion for her quarter horse mare. Shy little Mercury caught her eye and he finally found a home.
