Sable was abandoned, with his pal Rufio, at a general livestock auction.

Though they were both friendly and curious, they were untouched and so posed a bit of a challenge.

It took nearly a month for me to even be able to touch them.

I was worried about their feet deteriorating, and we needed to get them gelded, so we called Jonathan Field and he graciously donated his time to come out and work with them.

Jonathan invited Sable to come over for a few days so that they could continue to work with him.  Liz did most of his training there and he came home a changed pony!

Sable was then gelded, had his teeth done and his feet as well.

We continued to work with him nearly every day and he was turning into a very lovely boy.

His adopters heard of him very early on and had visited him frequently while he was still at Pipsqueak Paddocks.  Now, he is at his new home and luckily it is just around the corner, so we can give his new family a hand whenever they need it.  They are excited to keep working with him and know that he will be a great pony for their daughter when he is ready.
