Starbright arrived with another mare and that mare's colt. All three had very overgrown hooves and were infested with lice. Starbright, however, was also utterly emaciated.
It turns out that her teeth were so bad that she could not even move her jaw correctly enough to eat properly. She had massive spikes and sharp edges.
This has really taken a toll on her body condition over the years. She cannot even stand correctly due to lack of muscle. Her hocks steady each other when she is resting and kind of prop her up.
Starbright is very shy, but seems to like attention once she is in the thick of it.
She has had her teeth floated and seems much more comfortable now. She has been treated for internal and external parasites as well. Her feet are trimmed up and now she just needs time to pack the weight back on.
Starbright is doing really well! She has energy and attitude at last! She has worked her way into her foster family's hearts... they have decided that they just won't be able to part with her!
