Triumph

Triumph came to us at the end of November 2010.  He was petrified of humans.  He was infested with parasites, inside and out.  He weighed only 160 pounds.  He should weigh up to 260 pounds.

Triumph was literally skin and bone.  The vet rated him 0.5 on the body scale.  We had to lift him into the trailer because he did not have the muscle to jump.

He was very underdeveloped and narrow in the chest.

He does not have full vision.  His right eye is worse though, with a large scar blocking what vision he does have.

He arrived with his buddy, Rhapsody, who at a 2 on the body scale was in somewhat better shape.  Rhapsody took it upon himself to keep Triumph safe and was his seeing-eye Mini.

Soon though, Triumph felt safer around us and stopped hiding behind Rhapsody.

You can see here how Triumph could not stand properly due to the lack of muscle.  He kind of propped himself up with his hind legs tucked under and balanced forward.

It was their jobs to just eat and relax.  They got pretty good at that.

Two months later, he is nearing 200 pounds and feeling MUCH better!

He gets to go out for walks and socialize with the other Minis!

The future looks bright for Triumph and we're sure he's going to live up to his name!

Triumph gets lots of help building his muscles up.  Mulligan has appointed himself as his personal trainer!  LOL

It is now mid-February and Triumph weighs 220 pounds!  He enjoys being scratched and will voluntarily approach us for attention!

Triumph now enjoys going out for adventures!  We walk down to the river and he loves to play in the water and roll in the sand!

There was one really nice day, so he got his first bath.  He was nervous, but did very well overall.

Triumph is now healthy enough to be put up for Adoption!

Triumph is healthy as a... well, horse!  He is now at a foster home having some one on one time to help him deal with his fears.  He is making some new friends and having some BIG adventures!
